RFID VEHICLE TRACKING

WHAT IS IT? WHY DO I NEED IT?

WHAT IS RFID VEHICLE TRACKING?

Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is the use of radio waves to track tags that are associated with objects. RFID is widely used in the automotive industry for asset tracking by both OE manufacturers and retailers. For dealerships, this vastly improves the visibility of customer and inventory vehicles and saves both employees and guests time. With the conception of Service Drive Concierge in 2008, MDL pioneered the use of RFID technology for identifying service guests at dealerships. Since then, MDL has developed a whole suite of RFID-based solutions to help dealerships track vehicles and manage service processes.

HOW MDL USES RFID CAR TRACKING

MDL’s RFID solutions use passive RFID tags that are affixed to the back of vehicles’ rearview mirrors. These tags are active only when they pass important checkpoints around your store, which are fitted with RFID sensors that activate and read the tags. When this happens, notifications are sent to your team to greet the guest, find the car, or deliver the vehicle. Our RFID solutions are designed to connect you to your dealership data— and your guests—more easily than ever before.
